This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a reach stacker safely.
Reach stacker means a powered reach stacker that incorporates an attachment for lifting and lowering a shipping container.
This unit applies to the activities of a person operating a reach stacker greater than 3 tonnes capacity that incorporates an attachment for lifting, moving and travelling with a shipping container (not including a portainer crane).
A person performing this work is required to hold a reach stacker high risk work (HRW) licence.
This unit requires a person operating a reach stacker to plan work, conduct routine checks, prepare reach stacker operations, operate reach stacker, travel reach stacker and mobile container, and shut down and secure reach stacker.

This RS class licence empowers operators to move, lift, and transport heavy containers confidently and safely.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Understand WHS legislation and identify risk & hazards.
Conduct pre-start and routine inspections, and maintain equipment.
Plan and prepare lifting operations, including container movement.
Safely operate the reach stacker: maneuvering, traveling with containers, shutdown procedures.
Secure the reach stacker after operations.
You’ll earn a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0011.
You’ll be eligible for a High-Risk Work Licence (class RS) through your local WHS authority (e.g., SafeWork, WorkSafe).
Complete the TLILIC0011 training course.
Pass both theory and practical assessments.
Apply for your HRW (High-Risk Work) licence with your state’s WHS regulator.

This licence is required for anyone operating a powered reach stacker with capacity over 3 tonnes and lifting attachments.
