Qualification:Â
Duration: Half Day
Assessment Type: Theory and Practical
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electrical industry environment. This does not include overhead lines and underground cables.
It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to electricity supply industry (ESI) workers and/or electrical industry workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.
unit HLTAID009 describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This unit is a prerequisite foe Low Voltage Rescue.
On completion of the course, participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge to:
A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the units below;

This course provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus (specifically LV panels, not including overhead lines and underground cables) and also teaches how to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.Â
Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for two units: UETDRMP018 – Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel, and HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.Â
The course duration is Half Day.Â
The Low Voltage Rescue unit (UETDRMP018) requires a prerequisite of the Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation unit (HLTAID009). This course is a combined offering designed to satisfy both requirements.Â
Participants will gain the skills and knowledge to: prepare for a live LV panel rescue, carry out the rescue procedure, complete the rescue procedure, respond to an emergency situation, perform CPR procedures, communicate incident details, and review the incident.Â
Assessment for the course involves both Theory and Practical components.Â
The course fee is not displayed in the general course description. You must select a specific date from the schedule on the webpage and proceed to the online enrolment steps to view the price.
