  • Hold a current and valid licence or certification relevant to the plant or equipment they intend to spot for
Course Description:

The 22597VIC Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets is designed for people who need to work as safety observers, commonly known as spotters, when plant and equipment is operating near overhead or underground service assets. This course supports workers who are required to observe, identify and help manage risks around services such as powerlines, underground cables and other workplace assets. It is especially relevant for construction, civil, infrastructure, traffic management, utilities and plant operation environments where machinery may be used close to live services. The course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to support safe plant operations, communicate effectively with operators, follow workplace procedures and help reduce the risk of contact with service assets.

Learning Outcome:

Successful completion of the 22597VIC Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets provides learners with a nationally recognised outcome for workplace spotting. Graduates may be eligible to apply for registration as a Spotter with Energy Safe Victoria, subject to ESV requirements. This course is suitable for workers who need formal training to observe and manage the safe operation of plant and equipment around overhead and underground assets in Victorian workplaces.
