Course Description:

Forklift training program provides candidates with the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.

Once you’ve successfully passed the training, and assessment and lodged your assessment with WorkSafe/SafeWork, you’ll be qualified to operate any type of forklift in Australia, including counterbalance, side loading, all-terrain, and truck-mounted forklifts, reach trucks, and high-reach forklifts.

Learning Outcome:

On completion of the course, participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge to:

  • Components, controls and features of forklifts and their functions
  • Operating principles and operating methods
  • Load shifting processes and procedures including work platforms
  • Principles of the safe removal of obstacles and hazard from the workplace
  • The hazard control measures with elimination, substitution, isolation and engineering control measures being selected before safework practices and personal protective equipment
  • Workplace communication procedures
  • Obtain licenses and permits e.g. if forklift is to be driven on a public road
  • Demonstrate safe and environmentally responsible workplace practices
  • Electrical hazards
Outcome:

A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and a High-Risk Work Licence (class LF) will be issued through the WHS authority in your jurisdiction. (SafeWork/WorkSafe)

Certification: 

Successful completion entitles participants to a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for CPCCLRG3001 – high-risk forklift licence to Perform Rigging Basic Level.

  • Must be at least eighteen years old
  • Must have basic numeracy and literacy abilities
  • Must wear suitable PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Valid Photo ID (such as driver’s licence or passport)

To be certified, participants will also require a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
