Prerequisite: CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to perform dogging

Course Description:

This program aims to equip students with the necessary abilities and understanding to carry out rigging duties associated with the transportation of machinery and equipment, steel construction, various types of hoists (including mast climbing hoists), positioning of precast concrete, installation of safety nets and static lines, setting up perimeter safety screens and shutters, as well as operating cantilever crane loading platforms for the purpose of obtaining licences.

This training course is for those who want to obtain a Intermediate rigging licence and maybe proceed to advanced training courses for Advanced Rigging.

Learning Outcome:

On completion of the course, participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge to:

  • Strategies Operations: Effectively manage hazards and engage in consultation processes.
  • Equipment: Choose and inspect suitable lifting equipment required for specific operations.
  • Prepare: Make necessary preparations for the site and lifting equipment prior to commencing operations.
  • Transfer Loads: Rig loads and provide guidance for crane movements.
  • Conclude Operations: Safely shut down and pack up equipment according to site-specific protocols.
Outcome:

A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the units below, and a High-Risk Work Licence (class RB & RI) will be issued through the WHS authority in your jurisdiction. (SafeWork/WorkSafe)

  • You must be **18 years of age or older** to be assessed.
  • You must be able to meet the language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) requirements for the course.
