  • TLILIC0023 – Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes)

Course Description:

This course covers all the requirements for obtaining a national High Risk Work Licence (Class DG) for Dogging operations. This licence will allow you to direct the load movements for cranes, selecting and inspecting lifting equipment such as chains, synthetic slings, shackles and lifting beams. Successfully completing this course will allow you to direct the load movements for cranes, selecting and inspecting lifting equipment such as chains, synthetic slings, shackles and lifting beams within Australia.

This course qualifies you to become a licenced crane operator (or crane driver) in construction industry for slewing mobile cranes up to 60 tonnes.

This course covers all the requirements for obtaining a National High Risk Work Licence (Class C6) for slewing mobile cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 60 tonnes.

Successfully completing this course will allow you to operate any mobile cranes (up to 60t), any non-slewing crane (such as telehandlers or Franna cranes) and vehicle loading cranes (such as Hiab’s and Palfinger’s) within Australia.

Learning Outcome:

On completion of the course, participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge to:

  • Strategies Operations: Effectively manage hazards and engage in consultation processes.
  • Equipment: Choose and inspect suitable lifting equipment required for specific operations.
  • Prepare: Make necessary preparations for the site and lifting equipment prior to commencing operations.
  • Transfer Loads: Rig loads and provide guidance for crane movements.
  • Pre-operational Inspections: Crane and associated equipment
  • Set up: Outriggers, crane boom and lifting equipment
  • Conclude Operations: Safely shut down and pack up equipment according to site-specific protocols.

Outcome:

A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the units below, and a High-Risk Work Licence (class DG & C6) will be issued through the WHS authority in your jurisdiction. (SafeWork/WorkSafe)

Fees and Charges

 

This course attracts a fee of $2,890.00 per participant and is GST exempt. These fees cover all training, assessment, use of machinery/equipment, stationary (books, pens, use of calculator and resources), whistles (where applicable) and most importantly, the amazing experience.

 

The full course fee must be paid prior to starting date of the course. In the event that we have not received the full payment, we will withhold the documentation which will be sent via Registered Mail upon receipt of payment, at no additional cost.

 

Certificate

Upon completion of the course, the participant will be issued a statement of attainment in the above unit. Statements of attainment are valuable documents and need to be retained, in the event that one is lost, a replacement is available for a fee of $22.00 including GST.

Participants who do not satisfactorily complete the course in the first attempt have 90 days from the course completion to undertake a second and third attempt at the assessment at an additional cost (to be determined on a case-by-case basis).  Participants who wait longer than 90 days to undertake the second attempt will need to re-enrol into the course and pay the full course fee.
